how does a map sensor work and how do you connect it

The map sensor measures the intake manifold preassure (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Via a vaccum line from the intake plenum. It connects to the ecu to work out fuel mixtures and ignition advance.

To hook it up connect the plug from the wiring loom and connect a vaccum hose DIRECT from the manifold and keep it as short as possible and no kinks.
