Default VN Calais 5 Speed - Bagged, Rollin' Sigz, Big Sound System, Pearl Paintjob!

This is my 1990 VN Series 1 Calais, I originally bought the car back in 2009 with Super Low Springs, Sports Exhaust and a crappy Pioneer Head Unit for $3000. In the time I've had it, I've fallen in love with the car and ended up doing a lot more then I ever planned (and spending a fair bit more too!).The colour is Imperial Blue over Asteroid Grey with a green pearl ran through it.

Running gear:
Current: Buick 3800,T5 Manual, Factory Open Wheeler & Standard 3.08 gears
Near Future: Hot 6 Buick, T5 Manual, VLT LSD Diff with 3.7 Gears
Long Term: Cammed LS2, T56 Manual, VL Diff, Tru-Trac Centre with 3.7 Gears

Exhaust:
Current:Pacemaker Extractors & 2.5in Sports Exhaust
Near Future: Pacemaker Extractors, Twin LS1 cats & Twin 2.25" System.
Long Term: Custom Tunned Length Extractors, Full Twin 3" Under Diff System.

Wheels/Suspension/Brakes:

Current: 19" VY Senator Signatures, Pirelli Sotto Zero 265 Tryes 235/35/R19, Super Low King Springs(soon to be Ultras in rear), KYB Shocks, Protex Slotted Rotors & Bendix Ulimate CP Pads.
Near Future: 18" 100 Spokes, Fat White Walls, Ultra Lows in Front, Airbagged Rear.
Long Term: 19" FR19s, Coil Overs up front, Airbagged Rear, VZ R8 Brake Upgrade.


Interior:
Current: VN Calais Velour Seats, Saas Leather & Chrome Steering Wheel, Climate Control (blue), Electric Windows (blue), VR Calais Center Console Lid, VR Door pods & Blue Dash light conversion with LCD screens.
Near Future: Full VR Statesman Interior & Dash Conversion, Momo Leather Steering Wheels, Full Blue Light Conversion.
Long Term:VR Statesman Dash Conversion, Custom Trimmed Leather HSV Coulsons up Front, CV8 Monaro Bucket Seats in Rear, Momo Leather Steering Wheels, Full Blue Light Conversion.

Near Future: SS Lip Kit & Foggies, Remove Bonnet Scoop & Bonnet Gauges.

Audio:
Alpine IDA-X001 Head Unit,Polk Audio Splits (front) Polk Audio Coaxials (rear) 2X 1000W Clarion PXW1251 12" Subs,1550W Clarion DPX11551 Mono Block Amp & PC20 2 Farad Capacitor.


Engine Bay:
Current: VP Bonnet Struts, Painted Rocker Covers, Painted Intake Manifold, Chrome Intake Pipe, Shaved Satin Black Airbox, Super 6 VS CAI, Billet Oil Cap Billet Power Stearing Cap & Repainted Extractors.
Near Future: Smoothend Engine Bay, Hidden Wiring, Billet Caps.

PAINT IS DONNE, I havent been online for a while and a fair bit has happen in that time. Respray is finished Car has been polished up and all together(has for about 3 weeks now lol). Also in the time pissed-off the pod filter and went with a k&n pannel because I was sick of that awful noise.

very nice mate i love everything except the badges(but thatts just my personal taste) i usually dont like then rimz but i dont mind them on the vn, great work!!

Looks brilliant. Like how you've put all new chrome work on the car. Where did you buy the chrome strip for the bumpers? How much does it cost to buy the chrome? I've seen some on ebay but thats about it. Once again, great job. Rims, paint, chrome very nice.

Looks nice mate, good work on the respray. I have one qusetion, why does everyone tint the tail light in a vn??? Looks terrible imo...

I know theres some on ebay I've seen them before, I bourght them from a small shop in North Geelong, I cant remeber how much they were off the top of my head I can have a look if you want.

Thanks man, Well with mine, they were really badly faded so I figured 'what the hell, why not' so I sprayed it on never meant to go that dark but it grew on me so I kept it.

I always wanted a Imperial Bluw over silver VN Calais, but I settled for the single tone white one instead...seeing this makes me want a blue one again lol

When I first got the car I didn't know enough to appreciate how nice she was when I brought her home. Loving it now though

Very nice looking vn calais dude, wish mine was that colour. Thats probably what I should of done to mine before boosting it, love the door handles, where did ya get em from ?

I picked them up on eBay. Payed 140 for them, from memory that's how much they cost the dude to chrome them.

Well lately I've been working on my other car a fair bit, so this one hasnt got much work to it. But this is how it sits now removed the Sigz, now sits on 'ceptors.

Yeah I was thinking of selling the wheels, but I dont think the car would look the same on anything else. Also new springs going in soon dont you worry about that haha.

Umm next up, the rear is going lower when springs arrive and will be giving fiberglassing a go with some gauge ups for the center console. Then after my 5ltr sells new interior

wow car looks awesome mate. love the colour. i admire anyone that can do the spray job themselves. if only i had my own place to do it. cant wait to see whats next for this
