Default Group A & Group C touring car photos

Here are a few old photos I shot a few years ago, mostly Commodores plus
a couple of non Commodores just because I'm fan of Brock, and the other because its one of the only times this was seen in white.
If you what to guess, who, where and when.

Hence why it became the Channel 6 Camaro!

I still remember watching it flick up & go over. I initially thought it hit the race-cam they'd sunk into the road near that point, but it was later revealed to be a wheel/tyre failure.

Thanks for sharing some great old photos. Fantastic 2nd photo of Brockys 86' Mobil VK getting a bit 'over-steery' with Grice right on his tale. This pair had some wonderful battles over the years - one of the most notable being the 82 (??) James Hardie 1000 when Grice made a brilliant pass on the way up to the cutting - Exciting stuff!

I know it's being greedy considering all the great shots you've already posted, but have you got any pics of Larry Perkins VK & HDT (not walky) VL?

Beautiful!

I couldn't remember if it was VK or VL when he went to the red/grey/black stripes, but it seems it was VL. One of my favourite paint masking schemes, which was reborn on the VG Maloo. (Ironic that a HDT Group A is plastered with HSV! )

(Was there ever an Enzed sponsored VL for Perko, or did it end with VK?)

Also, the Everlast VL in the background brought back some memories. I'd completely forgotten about it. Another forgettable one I was reminded of recently was the Daily Planet walky.

From memory the Enzed sponsorship did not carry over to the VL.

Enzed VL only appeared on a Holden poster as an artists impression. Larry ran a sponsorless VL at the Calder WTCC immediately following Bathurst '87.

It was at Lakeside, Apirl 1987. Gary Scott was bedding in an engine on the Thursday and hit the barriers just past the kink on the main straight, opps!

Very cool.. Got my 1983 Bathurst book out now... If only my scanner was working. Got some wicked shots of DJ's Greens-Not-So-Tuf XE bent up... Awwww...

I just love seeing pics of the old McLeod - Bailey Slick 50 RX-7 flying round the mountain on two wheels....

But you can take those Sierra's and *&^% them... =)

The Sierra made the list for three reasons,
(1) I'm A Bock fan,
(2) I love this photo because it's a panned shot and it has Brockie locking a brake into Hungry cnr,
(3) I was lucky enough to take the shot and not because it's a Sierra, LOL.

I wish I was born a couple decades earlier so I could of seen the Group A and C era.

I went to the first couple Muscle Car Masters but missed the last 2.

The Brock/Perkins VK Group A that won Bathurst in 1984 is my favourite all time race car, I believe it's in the Museum at the mountain now.

I also agree that the non-Walky VLs looked awesome. I love that pit lane shot. If you look on YouTube there's the footage of Brock driving on slicks in the wet trying to catch the Sierras (cheats!) at Bathurst in '87, just awesome car control.

Here are a couple of photos JPS 635'S, Group C and Group A.
I shot both photos at Surfers Paradise.
So, which looks better? Me? I like the Group A ( The bottom photo), nice lines and lower.
