Thanks guys!
hakhawk: I ended up writing my own front end as all the other FE's like Road Runner just had way too much stuff that i'd never use, and couldn't accomodate for the stuff that I really needed (such as integration with the steering wheel controls). The skin is based on a skin for RR and can be found here, I just doctored the images from lloydy's skin to suit my needs.
At the moment it plays all the usual audio file types, as well as all video types includign xvid/divx and so on. Also has integrated GPS thanks to MapMonkey. Using the steering wheel buttons I can; Change Playlist (hold Mode, press Vol+, Vol-), Change song/video, Adjust volume, Fast Foward/Rewind through song/video (Hold Next, press Vol+/Vol-), Pause (Mute button), Toggle Full Screen (Hold Mode, press Mute) and so on, so there's no way I can get distracted by the screen trying to change song or do something (theoretically :P).
At the end of the day, I probably could have used RR and just written a smaller program to take the steering wheel inputs and map them to hotkeys for RR, but I like coding so.. and I have other screens to show voltages, amp current draw (soon) and so on (in future i'd like to hook up my ODBII scanner to show other statistics), so writing it from scratch would be easier for me to implement any changes I like.

hakhawk: Sure, i'll zip em up for ya. The font is actually called "Chintzy CPU BRK" and I got it from here. The gradient however is done using a component in the software the front end is written in.
phatwagon: At the moment the pc is literally taped to the lhs of the boot (so it won't slide around in there and disconnect itself) lol - I'm still not sure where i'm going to put it, i'd like to get rid of the spare tire and put it there but then i'm not sure if it'll still be roadworthy (do you need a spare?? :P) but most likely it'll be mounted sideways on the left or rhs of the boot space. I still need to fit another battery in there so.. Not sure yet, the boot is a work-in-progress :P

Where did you get the screen from? How much was it if you dont mind me asking.
What power supply are you using?
What are you writing the frontend in?

Thanks for all the comments guys!
The screen was purchased from mp3car.com, its the Xenarc 800TSV and cost $430usd. The power supply is the Opus 120watt dc-dc PSU, which cost around $100usd and has enough juice to power the screen+3.5" 250gb hdd + pentium m 760 etc, etc.
The frontend is written in Delphi

I like the car mate. Very classy indeed. I reckon it would look pretty nice with the spoiler gone though, just a suggestion.

92VP: Yeah a lot of people comment on the spoiler, some bad some good I think its a lot of a personal preference thing ay. I actually took it off not long ago and it just looked so weird (probably because I wasn't used to it) but I wanted it back on straight away. Just one of those things
VZPLZ: Thanks mate, Yeah that was the plan originally when I got the spoiler (was to eventually get the rest of the kit!) but I just gotta find the cash 4 it! One day perhaps!
bEaST: Info on the screen here mate, it "just" fits, there's not a mm either side of it. I didn't want to modify the surround incase it all didn't work out and I wanted to put the stock stezza back in, but I didn't have to which was good. Its actually just squeezed between the sides lol but you could never tell and its solid.

Its that one mate, I just removed all the parts from the inside and tossed out that case. The controller board, inverter psu and usb touchscreen board are mounted horizontally behind the screen in the car (just inside anti-static packaging on foam) and the screen and touchscreen have ribbon cables which plug into the boards, if that makes any sense..
